I have been exposed to many “alternative” ways of life. These ways of life are different from your standard American life. These ways of life are not necessarily new or strange; they morph more simplistic, whole techniques that strive to look at the impact my actions have while still being a part of this society.

I believe in sharing many of the things that I have been blessed to be exposed to.

Growing Food:

Many people may ask if I am into permaculture, organic, bio-dynamic and sustainable agriculture. The answer is yes but I do not have degrees and certifications. These concepts and practices are important but have also become buzz words where people talk a lot about things and forget to put a seed in the ground.

I help people of all socio- economic statuses grow food. There are so many different opportunities to grow food even if you don’t have a yard, like container gardening, or getting involved in or starting a community garden.

If you do have a big yard, maybe consider growing a huge garden instead of a lawn. How much do you spend on food ??? Entertainment??? Grass Cutters??? Why not farm your yard? You can donate the extra vegetables to a homeless shelter, get a tax write off and do something good for the future. Think global act local….. Local food is up to 70% more nutritious because it is fresh. You can be sure of how it is grown. (Even certified organic isn’t what it used to be).

Live Food Chef And “Kitchen Remodeling”

If you are feeling like you have no energy and you are constantly feeling sick and out of shape you might be suffering from the “standard American diet”

For people that are interested in turning over a new leaf in their health I can help with what to eat and how you eat it. After all one of the oldest sayings is ‘you are what you eat’

This can include:

  • Establishing a local food source- I will help you get connected with local growers and producers of healthy real food This can also include growing your own food.
  • Re-organizing your kitchen helping you re-organize and restock with healthy live foods and the implements to prepare as you un-cook your food such as a blender, cuisinart, juicer and food dehydrator.
  • Teaching you how to prepare delicious meals that make you feel great and lose unwanted weight.

If this diet does not make a difference in your life and the way you feel I guarantee that same diet you have been on all your life is always right there waiting for you at your nearest supermarket.

One does not need to be 100% raw to participate in the live food diet but I fully recommend going all out for one month to see the difference.

Eco Garden Program

The Impact Eco Garden Program is currently located in Over–the –Rhine (Cincinnati), Ohio. We are a life enhancing program that shares the “Organic” lifestyle with youth from all walks of life. Check out the Eco Garden.

The Youth in our program plan, plant, grow, harvest, market, eat and prepare Organic Food. The Eco Garden is located on Main St. North of Liberty in the Heart of Cincinnati's most beautiful neighborhood.

The Eco Garden in Over the Rhine is where the program started out and has had many different hands in the soil. With different leaders the garden has had many different visions. Under the leadership of Luke Ebner and Angela Stanbery, we are currently converting the once farm style plot in the middle of a city into a permaculture paradise with fruit trees, native plants, berries and labyrinths. The garden also includes some annual fruits, greens and vegetables.

While most of the education at the Eco Garden is experiential we also attempt to spark the interest of these youth with many questions.

  • Where does your food come from?

  • Who grows it?

  • What the heck is in that bag of chips?

  • What would happen if there were no farms?

  • What is Genetically Modified Food and why doesn’t Mr. Luke like the company Monsanto?

All these issues are really important to me and I want my students to understand the validity of these concerns and how they affect their lives. We engage the students to realize that they are individuals with many skills and don't have to be consumers.

A recent rap invented by the eco garden starts out like this; NO FARMS NO FOOD MECHANICAL FOOD IS SO RUDE…… WE EAT VEGGIES STRIGHT OUT THE GROUND FINER MEDICINE CAN’T BE FOUND.
